Course overview
Rheumatology services are scarce across sub-Saharan Africa, and urbanization has contributed to rising cases of gout, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and scleroderma.
Addressing these challenges requires equipping general practitioners and medical officers with essential skills for diagnosing and managing rheumatological conditions.
This 30-hour course, accredited for 30 HPCSA CPD points, provides comprehensive training in the etiology and pathogenesis of common conditions, distinguishing inflammatory vs. degenerative diseases, and delivering holistic patient care. Participants will also develop effective counseling skills for lifestyle modifications, ensuring better patient outcomes.
