Webinar Overview

This 60-minute on-demand webinar explores the role of palliative care in advanced Parkinson’s disease, with a focus on acute deterioration, functional decline, dysphagia, aspiration risk, neuropsychiatric symptoms and shifting goals of care.

Using a case-based multidisciplinary discussion, the session considers how clinicians can recognise palliative care triggers in advanced Parkinson’s disease and support patients and families through complex decisions around hospitalisation, feeding, medication, symptom control and comfort-focused care. The webinar highlights the importance of careful planning, family communication, multidisciplinary collaboration and a person-centred approach that prioritises dignity, continuity and quality of life in advanced neurological disease.

Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we equip multidisciplinary teams to relieve suffering, support dignity, and honour what matters most to patients and their families. We support healthcare professionals to be change agents in their own settings, and we engage with the wider health system to drive the changes needed to ensure everyone has access to quality palliative care.
