Annatjie Peters
Annatjie holds a BCur Degree from UP, a BACur Degree from UNISA, and a MSocSc Degree from UFS. She has also completed numerous diplomas and certificates in management and health-related courses.
Her career journey began in 1976 as a lecturer at the former Technical College, Kroonstad. In 1989, she transitioned to the Kroonstad Local Authority, where she oversaw all training programs. By 1992, she assumed the role of district TB Manager for the Fezile Dabi district and later expanded her responsibilities to become the TB Manager for the Free State in 1998. In 2006, she joined CDC (SA) as the TB/HIV Lead. After retiring from CDC in 2014, she took on the role of Chief of Party at JPS Africa. Here, she spearheaded the establishment of a National MDR-TB Centre of Excellence and implemented the first nurse-initiated MDRTB treatment and management program globally.
In 2017, Annatjie was commissioned by the WHO to draft the Pakistan National Strategic TB plan. Additionally, she undertook contract work for TADSA and Academia. Joining the Foundation for Professional Development in September 2017, she now serves as the Clinical Lead for the Academic Department.
