Liezl Naude is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Wound Management and the founder of Eloquent Learning Health, a Training company focussing on evidence based practical training in the Wound Management Environment.
Liezl has been on the forefront of Wound Management in South Africa since the inauguration of the Wound Healing Association of Southern Africa (WHASA) in 2005 where she was part of the conference organising committee. Since 2005 she played a key role within WHASA in establishing the organization and the official journal Wound Healing Southern Africa (WHSA). She is a past-president of the Wound Healing Association of Southern Africa (WHASA) and has been a member of the Executive Committee from 2005-2013. She is a member of the Advisory panel for the World Alliance of Wound and Lymphoedema Care (WAWLC) since 2009 and EXCO member for the Pan African Diabetic Foot Study Group since 2013. She was awarded Honorary Life Membership by WHASA in 2011 at the Wounds International Conference for her contribution towards Wound Care in South Africa.
She is also received recognition as an International Nurse Leader in 2013 from the International Nurses Association (INA). In 2017 she won best e-poster award for her work on Intermittent vacuum therapy at EWMA.Liezl has presented several topics at national and international conferences and authors several publications in both national and international journals. Liezl also pioneered the South African Total Contact Cast system in collaboration with BSN Medical.
