MicroCPD Summary

This MicroCPD offers a concise, evidence-based clinical roadmap for diagnosing and managing anaemia in adults. Using a case-based structure, it equips healthcare professionals with practical skills to classify anaemia by red cell indices, identify urgent red flags, and apply rational investigation pathways. The MicroCPD also explores treatment strategies for iron deficiency, anaemia of chronic disease, renal anaemia, and marrow-related conditions, tailored for the South African clinical context.

Participants will gain confidence in selecting appropriate therapies, interpreting test results in complex cases (e.g. inflammation, mixed anaemias), and integrating multidisciplinary care where needed.
