The American Heart Association’s HeartCode BLS Course, web-based and accessible 24 hours a day, provides a flexible alternative to classroom training. With a focus on the components of high-quality CPR, this online instructional program uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatisations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills for single rescuer and team basic life support.

The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Basic Life Support training for their clinical duties. Utilising a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatisations, Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs), illustrations, knowledge checks and interactive activities, this program teaches BLS knowledge and skills. This method of learning provides training consistency and adaptability to different learning styles. Students can work at their own pace, applying their knowledge to real-time decision making. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each knowledge check and each Cognitive Assessment Activity.
